A unique mural came into view on the side wall of SG last weekend. That is called ‘Jakhodo’(Tiger and Magpie) which is one of the popular folk paintings in old Korea. Folk paintings reflect the lifestyle and wishes of Korean people from ancient times. Koreans considered the magpie a bearer of good news, and the tiger symbolized protection from eveil. A chattering magpie symbolizes the coming of a guest or something good is going to happen.
Seeing this mural, guests can wish for a good luck and immerse themselves in the tradition of Korea. This mural was painted by Mihail Park, a Russian painter. His own style of painting is becoming popurar with Korean collectors nowdays.
