Last weekend(16 July), SG guests explored a network of narrow alleys from the site of Yi Sang’s House and the atelier of Yi San-beom(above), featuring the subdued colors of old structures. The famous film (“Architecture 101”) was made in one of the hanoks in this village(below). An old residential district containing about 663 Korean traditional houses (hanok), Seochon is regarded as a living museum preserving much of Seoul’s traditions and culture. The Seochon Hanok Village has grown into one of Seoul’s major tourist attractions. There is an interesting mix of old and new houses.
