Dduk Gook is a traditional new years food for korean people. It's ingredients differ from house to house, but ONE ingredient is a must for this food. Rice cake (in korean - DDUK) is used in many korean foods and also is the main ingredient in Dduk gook. It is a hot soup with flavours taken out of ingredients like anchovy, meat or dried seaweed. The rice cake and other ingredients like carrot, egg, seaweed make it a very delicious food.
